The ‘MoveRight’ App

Young social housing residents aged 35 and under are at the highest risk of losing their tenancies within one year of moving into their new homes. They are also the most difficult to engage using traditional methods of contact.

The MoveRight app is designed to help young social housing residents to take control of their financial security and avoid homelessness. It is a one stop shop for:

  • understanding bills and letters,
  • finding out about grants, discounts and benefits for financial support
  • interacting with housing officers

The app provides a win-win solution for social landlords, who can save costs on chasing rent, court costs and eviction proceedings. The app was shortlisted by the Converge Challenge, ranking top 60 out of 223 applicants. It went on to win two funding awards from Paul Hamlyn Foundation and Shackleton Foundation, and is now in development. If your housing association/council would like to subscribe to the app, please get in touch via the Contact page or email lynette@elimuinternational.org.
